Doctor’s visit went well, which was pretty much to be expected, other than tiredness from a busy REM cycle (thanks to meds) and my backache. Turns out, it’s most likely that my sciatica is being pinched when I stand/walk for more than 15-20 mins. For right now, the best things I can do is 1) exercise and 2) lose weight, which I’m doing. I am still rebuilding the tracking habit for what I eat- Lose It makes it very easy to pick it up again.
I did make a decision and dropped the Daily Challenge, at least for a while. I am re-starting some of the lower back and core exercises I learned with the physical therapist to help my back. I would rather come back to DC after I’ve built that habit.
I’m also getting some heel pain in my left foot- that shoe is already wearing out. I honestly don’t think that I’m that hard on my shoes, even if I do wear them every day. I may need to just invest in a different style/quality of shoe. Stretching my hamstrings is also super-important right now, since I’m always more prone to charleyhorses when I start ramping up exercise again.
Despite the sounds of it, these are all actually Good Things- I would much rather be stiff and achy due to exercise than without it.
Work is overwhelming. I’ve been asked to speak on a panel at a conference in September, which is a great opportunity but hard to think about right now with so much going on. Hubby had a bad reaction to some pizza Monday night- he has been a sad panda because pizza is his favourite food. We also think Lucas may be so noisy because he’s missing Zack, which makes us sad. I have a couple blog carnival articles in the works. Exciting! Hopefully you will see them soon.
