Late post today- any time I actually sat at my desk I was on the phone. Let’s see how I’m doing so far:
- Podiatrist – Four more weeks in the shoe and then another checkup. Called that one.
- Dentist – New toothbrush is really helping my gums- yay! Full checkup in three months. Points for no comment about whitening my teeth this visit.
- Rheumatologist. Well.
You may or may not have noted that I added “Osteoarthritis” to my blog categories. Yup- definite diagnosis for the base of my thumbs and that fingertip joint that are giving me such a hard time. Not a lot of options- I’m already doing most of what I can do. More massage will help, so I can do that.
As for the heartburn, I can cut back my naproxen doses to once a day and go back to the tylenol arthritis in the evening, which should help. I’m rather pleased about that. I’ll mention it to my PCP tomorrow, but taking tylenol should help reduce the heartburn a lot.
The pain in my hips, however? Trochanteric Bursitis. Ice my hips 2-3 times a day and some physical therapy to do at home for 3-4 weeks. If there’s no improvement then call her back and we’ll take it from there (most likely cortisone shots- whee). I will probably do ice and start the stretches tomorrow, because right now I hurt like h*ll from her digging into my hips (necessary, but oh, so painful).
Overall, I’ll give myself a 2.5 out of 3 for prediction. Hoping the PCP can help me with my belly troubles tomorrow, or else I may be seeing a GI soon.
I think I’m going to check out the pool this weekend- that should be good for everything without aggravating my foot. We had a couple of beautifully cool, clear days here in Florida (record lows!) but we’ll be back up in the 80’s by tomorrow.
