I have a long recap of the holiday weekend in the works, but just for today, the pond is covered in birds! The stork has made a reappearance, with both Greater and Lesser Blue Herons in attendance. A small black wading bird is the stork’s self-appointed sidekick today. There are nearly a dozen cormorants flicking about (I’ve never seen so many together before!), the posse of the usual mallards, looking quite confused by the hub-bub, and one pair of wood ducks are down for the winter- always nice to see them!
The weather has been lovely and warm, if a bit overcast. Hubby and I went for a short walk yesterday. This is my week off, so I’m grinding through laundry and other house chores, then out to do errands. I have a long, long list of things to do, but if I do one or two a day then that’s great, and anything that doesn’t get done has waiting this long. I firmly intend to stop by my favourite coffee shop for some tea, a slice of pumpkin bread (or something else tasty) and to read my book for a bit. Yay, holiday!
