I managed to get up with the first alarm today after more exhausting dreams. Outside the sky was covered by an even, fluffy blanket of grey, cotton-wool clouds. As I left for work, the sun broke through and turned everything sherbet-orange. Have you ever seen how the light turns a sickly yellow-grey just before a storm? It was like that, but delicious! I then was able to chase a rainbow almost the whole way to work- really a wonderful start to the day.
Thankfully, things are looking up in other ways as well. I saw my PCP yesterday, and while we’re waiting for test results, he’s pretty sure that I’m hyperthyroid right now which explains, well, a whole lot of things: hair falling out, irritability, exhaustion, insomnia, vivid dreaming, etc. It might even be impacting my GI issues. Once the labs come back we’ll probably cut back my dosage. *crosses fingers* Not thrilled that it changed, but happy that dosage is going down instead of up!
Boy, I really need to get back to posting regularly- so much to catch up on! Last week I was fighting a cold with low-grade fever all week. Despite being sick Sunday I went in Monday, was out Tuesday, had to work Wednesday, and finally gave in and took Friday off for four days of rest. Saturday one of hubby’s co-workers came over and we played board games. It was fun to play new games with new people- and more kayaking people! Yay! Sunday we visited friends who just moved to their first place, then migrated next door to other friends for more games, pizza, and movies. I stayed up much too late every night, did not get much sleep, and did not sleep well- at least now I know why it’s been so hard!
Saturday morning Mom2 took me shopping at the Coldwater Creek outlet as a birthday gift. This is becoming a tradition for us- and then we have lunch somewhere that the menfolk don’t care for. ;D It’s always a lot of fun. I ended up getting a another long skirt (despite telling myself no more long skirts!) several tops and shells for work, and saw a great idea for a woven scarf I will have to try. I also picked up a linen jacket for work, and an ochre sweater- now the weather just needs to cool off a little! I also saw a necklace design I want to try. I was stunned to see a very simple bead necklace that I could make for .50 on sale for $19.99! I really need to start selling things…! I also found a gift for someone else, and we had Mexican afterward. I expected the gift to be the trip, but Mom grabbed my bill, so I covered lunch. We will continue to wrestle over this until the next round of gift-giving. ;}
Other than that, not much going on. Hubby and I went back to a favourite online game and found a bunch of people online we haven’t talked to in ages, so it’s nice to socialize and re-learn the game (plus additions and changes since the last time we played). I have also gotten hooked on Pandora for quiet background music while at work. I share a wall and despite sound panels you hear *everything*. I also work well to music- I’d sort of forgotten that. I’m having fun building my “station” although they don’t have all the music I like best (although they have a lot more than some music services I tried!). We still need to put together the first bookcase- the second should arrive sometime this week. Yay, books and organisation! Oh, and lots of reading. Hubby gave me 1493 for my birthday and I’m trying to finish up my current book before I dig in (I’m a one-book-at-a-time kind of gal).
So yeah, I think that’s all the fun stuff. How are YOU?
