Woke up to cats howling outside the door for breakfast and was up and out the door in 15 minutes. Forgot my phone and lunch, but hey, I’m here. Not having time to loosen and limber up is really hurting though (both figuratively, and literally- I’m having back spasms) and because of my med schedule I can’t eat for a bit or take my next round of meds yet. I did manage to bring a banana for breakfast. *sigh*
Thursday I stopped at the pharmacy and randomly checked the shopping plaza behind it and sure enough- there was a hair salon right there. I walked in and they weren’t too busy. I took about two inches off the sides and back but left it long in the front. She spent a LOT of time getting the layers “just right” and insisted on a blowdry before I left, but I’m really happy with how it came out and it was MUICH cheaper then the other place I was going. I will definitely go back. I forgot to take a “before” picture but I’ll post an “after’ as soon as I have one! They also do pedicures and such, which is good to know, and I get a discount on my next visit.
Friday I used my accrued OT from working late Monday to leave work early and do errands (I don’t get paid OT, so my supervisor is fairly flexible with how I spend them). I made two stop in an hour and that was about as much as I could take- it was HOT. First I finally went to the shoe store with my coupons and found they were having a BOGO 1/2 off sale. Add in a tax-free weekend (which I had completely forgotten about) and I ended up walking out with a free pair of shoes and hopefully won’t have to shoeshop for another year! Woo!
Next was the bath store where I picked up a wall-mounted dispenser for shampoo and such. I really liked the convenience on the one in our shower on the cruise- not bottles to drop of slippery shampoo to spill. It has three compartments and can be mounted in a corner or flat along a wall. I also picked up a new aqua bath mat for the guest bathroom and moved the nasty beige one to the garage door. I also bought a chair cushion for my office desk. It definitely helps my back but it’s a bit too high so I tend to lean forward on my elbows- not good. Hopefully it will settle a bit with use.
Saturday it was clear that I had overdone it and was stiff and in a lot of pain most of the day. Hubby helped keep me distracted with board games. We did venture out ostensibly for the Library but were distracted by a bookstore. By the time we finally made our escape (with 8 books) the Library was closed. Whoops! We will stop by one day after work and pick up the first disc of season Dr. Who, because we’re fools like that.
Sunday was a better day, and we played board games and socialized at a friend’s house over dinner. Also made plans for Saturday dinner next week before my friend’s baby arrives- we’ve had such a hard time scheduling anything between the toddler, her teaching schedule, my work schedule, and both of our RA. I then did a foolish then and read late before bed, and then couldn’t get to sleep. I’d say “hence: the oversleeping” but hubby’s alarm didn’t go off, either, so I really had no hope this morning.
In good news, tracking everything I eat and making adjustments in my portions is starting to pay off and I’ve lost three pounds. My first goal is to get back under 200 and my second is to lose 20 pounds- I just need to be consistent and persistent. Oh, and the clothes I ordered online arrived and I’m wearing the first blouse today. The shoulders are ruched which was not clear in the photo or description, but otherwise it looks and fits great (I am not fond of anything that makes my shoulder look larger than they already are). If the other three tops are just as good then I won the online shopping lottery. Lots going on this week at work- dang, I’m tired.
