Had CRAZY dreams last night so woke up really tired. Today we meet family for dinner to celebrate dil’s birthday/Father’s day. Yesterday we ate at our favourite Italian place to celebrate my reclassification (which came with an unexpected pay increase. True to form, I used a coupon for dinner. Scots frugality at its best- or most stereotypical as the case may be.)
Need to schedule bloodwork, re-schedule one doctor’s appointment, and head back to the dentist to have new impressions made, since the last round were apparently not satisfactory. The numbness in my hands is fading a bit, although the elbow padding is almost more trouble than it’s worth.
Other than a yummy dinner, the most exciting event of the weekend was moving the new (to us) brown couch from the garage to the big room. We borrowed a trolley from friends and took it out the garage, down the walkway, and through the front door. This meant we only had to lift over the sill. Despite its size, the couch was much lighter than I expected. That said, we were both utterly bushed by the time we were done. However, it looks fantastic, I moved a cabinet and lamp so it is now ideal for lounging and reading, and the cats approve.
(Lucas is the black blob in the left, Zack the tail in the right. You think the couch doesn’t look that big in the picture, but they’re very big cats and so throw off the scale.)
It appears to have been claimed by Zack, which is only fair since Lucas has most of the rest of the house. The couch is so long that I can sit on one end with my feet up, hubby on the other, and we can play footsies in the middle. It is by far the nicest free couch you could possibly hope for.
My main work tasks for today involve my monthly reports and developing training documentation. Oh Monday, what have I ever done to you to deserve such a fate?!
I do still intend to post about my Alaska trip. I also intend to do some crafting. I strongly recommend not holding your breath for either, although I have a new necklace inspiration that I simply must make soon! All craft store flyers have gone straight into the recycling- I am not allowed to buy more matériels until I get caught up on what I have. *shakes finger at self*
