I ended up giving myself Tuesday night off from exercise- I had planned to stretch and it would have been good for me, but I was so exhausted after grocery shopping that I knew I needed the rest. Hubby is picking up some of my slack with housework and I am getting better at asking for help, and we each surprised each other with treats: I brought home stuffed scallops as a fancy side to a leftovers dinner night, and he brought me a mini bag of peanut M&Ms.
We so rock. ;}
Thankfully, Wednesday my ankle was feeling a lot better. I was extra-careful with it so I could walk without wearing my ankle brace. I also had a perk when we found out the loop we walk is actually 2.3 miles, so we averaged an 18.3 minute mile on Monday and on Wednesday! We had one more walker and I kept pace with them, so I only improved my time by 11 seconds, but it’s probably good for me to keep building up slowly- it’s so tempting to push myself, but barely being able to stay awake until 9 pm is a sure sign that my body is still adjusting. Sadly, insomnia has been lurking about lately- I woke up at 3:30 and wasn’t able to get back to sleep. Usually I manage to drift for an hour or so but no such luck- at least I got 6 solid hours, which should be enough for today.
I have made a Pretty Thing but will not post a pic yet- it is a gift and I don’t want to ruin the surprise. I’m very pleased with how it came out and am looking forward to playing around with the design some more. Maybe today after work I will visit the still-unexplored bead store near work, pick up anything yummy I can find at the Asian market, and put gas in my car. Hubby has offered to hoover on his day off so I won’t have to do it this weekend- yay! Hopefully I will not be as sore from yardwork between stretching and not overdoing things. *crosses fingers*
