Yesterday was a hard day. I have had much worse, but it wore on my spirit, as it were. I finally gave in to the sinus headache and went home an hour early, took Tylenol and a decongestant, and napped until hubby got home. He surprised me by suggesting we go out for sushi (not his favourite food) at the place down the street we haven’t tried yet. I was groggy but felt a lot better, so I got re-dressed and went out.
The food was good: I had avocado salad, shrimp shumai (YUM!), and chicken soba. It was surprisingly busy for a Thursday night and the waiter kept apologising (my impression is that most of their business is usually takeout). We were hungry, but not particularly impatient, so it was a nice surprise when they gave us a free maki to compensate. It was seaweed-on-the-outside with a cooked whitefish. It was all lightly fried in tempura with a tangy dressing- not bad and definitely not something I probably would have thought to try. I’ll have to ask what it was next time we go back- I blame food-coma for forgetting to ask. (I LOOOOOOOVE soba!)
(Oh, and while it was a little pricey for a week night dinner, we got a LOT of food- I easily have enough for lunch tomorrow. Yay!)
We came home and FINALLY finished assembling the elliptical! (Although not before I accidentally chipped off a piece- d’oh! Don’t hand the tired, foggy girl with bad hands the hammer). It is now fully functional and I will probably start using it today. My plan is six minutes. That doesn’t sound like much, but since I’ve done hardly anything other than stretching for months I think that it’s wise to have a modest starting goal, and that’s enough for one Activity point with WW. Wish me luck!
