So, I have an issue that I think I need to address.
Okay, here goes. “My name is Elisabeth and I’m obsessed with umbrellas”.
Seriously, I don’t know what it is lately, but I want a cute umbrella so desperately it’s ridiculous. Partially it is living in Florida during the summer- there are so many cute, pretty sunshades in use it makes me long for one myself. Not to mention the fact that since I live in a state when the sun shines and it rains *at the same time* on a regular basis, it just makes sense.
Of course, hubby calls them “portable lightning poles”. Sadly, I am practical enough that I can’t entirely disagree. A few companies do make non-conductive umbrellas (usually with fiberglass). I could get a jumbo golf umbrella- the kind with the flap so it never turns inside out and big enough so that I can transport a baby elephant without it getting wet.
But, they’re not pretty.
And it has to have the curvy handle so I can hang it on my arm and look chic without dropping it. And then I can use it like a cane but it won’t look like it’s a cane because it’s an umbrella. Smart, right?! Is that so much to ask?
Because the *other* practical part of me wants something small enough that I can tuck in my bag and not have to juggle it when not in use. And those snazzy, non-conductive golf umbrellas? Not collapsible. Foo.
I am sure that there’s interpretation theory somewhere for what umbrellas represent, safety and protection or something. But dammit, I just want CUTE. And useful. And not too expensive. Please.
