So, I’ve been indulging in a modicum of denial that I am gradually shaking off (much to my chagrin). During the move and for a while afterwards I stopped weighing myself and tracking what I eat. I knew that I had gained back a few pounds, but the results finally hit home today.
Probably about six months ago I broke the zipper on my favourite pair of work slacks. They sat in a drawer for quite a while before I finally got around to bringing them to a cleaner to have them repaired. I picked them up last week and wore them today.
They are almost too small.
Of course, not only have I gained back some weight, but six months ago I was exercising fairly regularly (two and sometimes even three times a week). Since march with the RA flare, moving away from a convenient gym, and just general inertia I have let things slide. While I didn’t pick up many pounds, my shape has definitely shifted.
So I’m trying to get back on track again. I had already started weighing myself daily again (which I need to start tracking again), and avoiding the Coffee Shop of DOOM, but I’m trying to take things in small stages. Tracking my weight and calories, making sure I drink enough water, and re-inflating my exercise ball to sit on will be a good start. My first goal will be to lose the five pounds I picked up since March and then I’ll set a new goal from there.
Wish me luck! (And perseverance!)

Elizabeth, I bet the cleaners shrunk those pants…damn them!

Lol! Well, I’d like to suspect that they didn’t do quite as good a job on the zipper, but I’ll reduce my waistline a bit first before I bring it back for alterations. ;D
